What this policy covers
This policy covers the data Habitual Money, Inc. ("Habitual", “we”, "our", "us") collect about you (“user”), what we do with it, why we collect it, and how you can access it. This policy applies to information we collect through the website, including www.habitual.money (”Site”), public marketing site ("Marketing Site"), in email, text and other electronic messages between you and this Website and, through the mobile application (”App”) you download from this Website or other services made available (such as the iOS App Store or Google Play Store).

This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and is subject to the Habitual Terms of Service. By using our service, you agree to the privacy practices described in this Privacy Policy, to our Terms of Service, and any other policies made available by us to you.
What does this policy not cover?
This policy does not cover what third-party services we use do with your data. However, we can be completely transparent about these third-party services and link you to their privacy policies. We employ the services of trusted companies to handle transactions and actions that are outside the expertise of the team at Habitual Money, Inc.

Information we collect

Information you provide us

Account information: When you sign up, you provide us with your phone number, full name and email address.

Billing information: We may also collect payment information, including your payment card number and associated billing information, and other profile information you upload to your account.

Financial details: You may provide us with details about your spending, such as merchant names, costs, transaction descriptions on the transaction itself, and budget names and amounts.

Information collected via technology

Device Information:
 We collect technical information associated with the device(s) you use to access our services, including information related to your browser and operating system, IP address (the Internet address of your computer), unique device identifiers, and other information such as your device type.

Financial Information: When you use our service, we collect information about you when you connect your registered account with us to financial institutions and other third-party data sources (“Financial Data Sources”) or when you otherwise provide us with access to information from those Financial Data Sources. When you authorize a link to your bank via Habitual, we are able to sync information from these Financial Data Sources and collect your Financial Information including your account balance, transactions, and holdings. We do not store your personal bank credentials anywhere on our server. We only have read-only access to your account; we are not able to make changes to your bank accounts. We may use third-party data sources to assist in collecting and syncing your information, including Financial Information, from Financial Data Sources, and by connecting your Habitual account to a Financial Data Source, you agree to all applicable third-party sources’ terms and conditions and privacy policies.

Usage Data: As you use the app, we have analytics engines running which will collect information about how you are using the site and information about your device, browser, and IP address. We do not send any personally identifiable information to these analytics engines, meaning they will not be able to connect your data to your name or email address.

Email messages: In order to provide enhanced services, we use automated software to identify merchant-related emails in Gmail inboxes that you connect to Habitual so that we can display within the app information about specific transactions you have made, merchants you have engaged with in the past, and other related information. Note that by connecting email inboxes or transferring emails to Habitual, no humans will have access to the content of your email messages unless you specifically allow this type of access.

We are currently under review by an independent third-party auditor to take a look at how Habitual uses and protects your email information, in accordance to meet Google’s standards. Habitual adheres to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We do NOT use this information o provide you with marketing or advertising from other stores or services.

Email Tracking Pixels: We will periodically send you emails as you engage with our product. These emails contain a tracking pixel which will let us know if you have opened the email. We use this information to analyze how our users are responding to our communication efforts and to ultimately improve the service for you.

Facebook Tracking Pixel: On our Marketing Site, we are running a Facebook Tracking Pixel in order to run re-targeting ads. This means if you have visited our website in the past, we may show you ads on Facebook. We do NOT participate in the Advanced Matching feature that uses your personal information on Facebook to match with your activity on our site.
How we use your Information?

Do you share my information with other organizations?
We share selected information with the third-party services listed above, and strictly only for the necessary operations of the service. We do not share your information with other organizations for profit and we’re committed to never doing this. As such, you will never see ads on our platform.
How long will you keep my information?
We will keep your information as long as you are a user (either trialing, paid, or free) of the service. Once your trial ends, we auto-schedule for your account and all its data to be deleted from our servers after 30 days. Any synced bank or email accounts will be disconnected after 5 days. If you request a cancellation of your account either by email via support@habitual.money, or through the product, all data associated with your account will be deleted within 72 hours.

We will also retain and use your information as necessary to resolve disputes, protect Habitual and our users, and enforce our agreements.
How can I access my data?
You can access your financial data by using the product. If you would like an export of all the data we have on you, please contact us at: support@habitual.money.
How do I opt-out of data collection?
Account Information: We are committed to ensuring that all the data we collect about you is stored securely and is necessary to provide you with quality services. To opt-out of the collection of financial information, do not link your bank. To opt-out of the collection of email information, do not link your Gmail. You can unlink your financial banks and Gmail accounts at will via the product under settings at any time.

Marketing Communications: You may instruct us not to use your information to contact you by email, postal mail, or phone regarding products, services, promotions and special events that might appeal to your interests by contacting us using the information below. You can opt-out of receiving further promotional emails from us by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the promotional email you receive or by emailing us directly at support@habitual.money with “OPT-OUT”, “UNSUBSCRIBE”, “STOP”, or “REMOVE” in the subject line.

Removing your name from the email list may take a reasonable amount of time. Please note that, regardless of your request, we may still use and share certain information as permitted by this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law. For example, you may not opt out of certain operational emails, such as those reflecting our relationship or transactions with you.

Additional Information: If you do not want the Service to collect information through the use of cookies, your browser may allow you to be notified when you receive certain types of cookies and restrict or disable certain cookies. Each browser is different, so you should check your browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to change your cookie preferences. Please be aware that if you disable or reject cookies, some features may not work properly.

The Services are intended for a general audience and not for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personal information (as defined by the United States Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) from children under 13 years of age. If you believe that we might have any such information from a child, please contact us as described at the end of this Privacy Policy. If we learn that we have collected any personal information from children under 13, we will promptly take steps to delete such information and terminate the child’s account.

We use certain physical, managerial, and technical safeguards that are designed to improve the integrity and security of your information. Nevertheless, transmission via the internet is not completely secure and we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or store on the Service and you do so at your own risk. We also cannot guarantee that such information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

Notice to California Residents
California’s “Shine the Light” law gives California residents the right under certain circumstances to request information from us regarding the manner in which we share certain categories of “personal information” (as defined in the Shine the Light law) with third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not share your “personal information” with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
Notice to Nevada Residents
Certain Nevada consumers may opt-out of the sale of “personally identifiable information” for monetary consideration (as such terms are defined under Nevada law) to a person for that person to license or sell such information to additional persons. We do not engage in such activity; however, if you are a Nevada resident who has purchased or leased goods or services from us, you may submit a request to opt-out of any potential future sales under Nevada law by contacting us at support@habitual.money. Please note we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity and the authenticity of the request. Once verified, we will maintain your request in the event our practices change.
